Reporting to the Director of Product, you will work with cross-functional product teams to discover, design and define a solution. To be successful in this role, you should be able to translate unmet business and consumer opportunities into scalable and delightful products. What will you do?


  • Strong partnership and collaboration with Product, Engineering, Partnerships, and Solutions to develop new product concepts
  • Define and solve complex and unique business challenges through product discovery and design-thinking techniques including research, user testing, wireframing, prototyping, and iteration
  • Ensure product solutions provide value and delight for our customers, yet work for our customers’ and our business (eg. regulations, legal/privacy, ethics, etc).
  • Contribute to our design system including UX copy and Accessibility design
  • Provide mentorship to our design team and support collaborative processes within and across teams
  • Balance business goals with our user experience values to improve product strategy
  • Ensure consistency of experiences across platforms and contribute to our design system
  • Champion and evangelize design team values, strategy, and processes from end-to-end (within and outside of the team)

 

What do you need to succeed?


Must-Have’s:

  • BA/BS degree in Design related to interaction design, digital experience design,human-computer interaction or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in Product Design or equivalent role
  • Previous experience in working on Saas products or a world-class product or online service, on both mobile app and web platforms
  • Solid experience in user research setting including experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Proficiency in user interface design and using tools like Figma, Sketch, InVision, Principle, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on customer-centred design
  • Ability to lead all aspects of the user-centered design process from conception to completion
  • Ability to articulate design strategy, rational and logic; describing benefits and highlighting risks associated with design decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team-player with the ability to engage with stakeholders
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

 

Nice-to-Have’s:

  • Experience working with a growth stage startup
  • Good understanding of the current mobile ecosystem and mobile technology (Android/iOS development) as well as data integration including REST API

  • This is a hybrid role where employees generally come into the Toronto office 3 times a week. 


We will conduct all interviews in a distributed manner using applicable third party software where needed and using visual interface tools such as Google Hangouts and Zoom. Our intention is to respect everybody's need for safety and adherence to social distancing.
